Individual Coaching

This 1-on-1 coaching experience provides the preacher an opportunity to work with me privately in order to identify goals and next steps in their development. Through sermon analysis and guided reflection, I work with you through an inductive process to draw out your gifts and help identify opportunities for growth that are unique to you.

Client Reviews

  • Rev. Janiece is a gift to the preacher. If you desire to find and/or develop your voice as a preacher, to hone your sermon development skills, and to become more creative in the ways you invite the listener into a transformative experience with our God through the art of preaching, I highly recommend Homiletic Coaching with Rev. Janiece Renee.

    Rev. Tara Faith Williams

  • Janiece Williams has been a dedicated mentor to me since I was 14 years old. As a young and upcoming female preacher, Janiece spent countless days and hours dedicating her time to teaching me, praying for me, and leading me. She has continued to help me develop my craft of preaching while assisting me in sermon preparation, and guiding my study techniques. She holds me accountable to my studies, preparation, and prayer. There is not a week that goes by that Janiece does not make sure I am in good standings with my walk with Christ. I am forever grateful for the leadership of Janiece Williams, and my ministry would not be as effective if it were not for her guidance.

    Rev. Jaylin Walden

  • Rev. Janiece has truly been a source of support in my exegesis. She encourages me to examine not only the text from different angles, but also to consider the differentiation of the congregation or audience the sermon will be preached to. Rev. Janiece’ s reviews are structured and detailed in a way that allows me to know she has actually read through the material presented, and has a mind to assist me in improvement if necessary. Not only that, but Rev. Janiece is a person with a welcoming personality. I did not feel the pressure that may come with speaking with a professor or denominational leader when communicating with her. It felt as if she was a co-laborer in the ministry with a specific skill set used to enhance the body of Christ. I am encouraged that God has blessed the body with Rev. Janiece Williams and would recommend her to my friends in ministry.

    Rev. Al Curley III, M.Div.

Group Coaching

Sermon formation is a group coaching experience. In a small group setting, each participant will submit a video-recorded sermon to me for peer group reflection. Together, the group listens to the sermon and develops questions based on the preacher's desired elements of focus. With my guidance, the group helps the preacher in focus to hear how others encounter their sermon, work through desired elements of feedback, and to think through next steps for development. In person and online options available.

This group coaching service is perfect for conferences, retreats, workshops, associate minister development, pastoral cohorts, and independent minister cohorts. For more intentional learning options for associates, please check out my preaching lab opportunities here.

Note: You can assemble your own group and we will work together to set dates and times.

The Preaching Pastor

No one knows the saying that “Sundays come quicker than sermons” like early-career pastors. In the first five years of pastoral leadership, preaching often carries more weight than expected. Pastors are preaching every week while also learning and leading people, managing vision, navigating conflict, responding to crisis, and trying to build something that lasts. Without intentional rhythms and practical frameworks, preaching becomes reactive, inefficient, and exhausting.

This program is designed to address that problem head on. It focuses on how preaching changes when the preacher is faced with the challenges that arise upon transitioning from writing sermons for a Sunday or occasional preaching assignment to preaching weekly with the added pressure of leadership, crisis, and vision.

The Preaching Pastor is a 6-week online preaching cohort helping early-vocation senior pastors build a preaching practice that works with their leadership instead of against it. Through focused teaching and individualized sermon coaching, participants develop clear rhythms and practical systems so that preaching supports congregational growth over time and remains sustainable for the pastor.

Focused Teaching Sessions: Each week features a live teaching session that addresses the real challenges pastors face when preaching under leadership pressure, limited time, and responsibility for others.

Individualized Sermon Coaching: Participants receive one-on-one sermon coaching with detailed analysis of their own preaching, offering clear, practical feedback tailored to their pastoral context.

Preaching Rhythms and Systems: Develop sustainable rhythms and sermon preparation systems designed for real pastoral life, rather than ideal schedules, so preaching becomes more intentional and less reactive.

Leadership-Centered Preaching Frameworks: Explore how preaching functions within vision casting, leadership tension, crisis, and congregational growth, helping sermons support the long-term direction of the church.

  • 6 weeks beginning Monday, April 13, 2026 including weekly meetings, ensuring a close-knit and supportive environment.

Daughters of Elizabeth

Daughters of Elizabeth is a 12-week group coaching cohort for women preachers who want to cultivate the preaching voice lying dormant within her. The cohort focuses on communal learning and sermon development, offering space for women to grow in clarity, confidence, and attentiveness to the voice they have been called to steward.

Named in honor of Elizabeth, the earliest recorded Black woman preacher whose ministry dates back to the early nineteenth century, Daughters of Elizabeth is rooted in a lineage of women who preached without recognition, permission, or protection. This program honors that legacy while supporting women preachers today as they strengthen their sermons, listen more closely to their God-given voice, and grow into preaching as a practice shaped over time. Rather than rushing toward polish or performance, the cohort makes room for becoming, allowing women to develop their preaching through discipline, reflection, and shared learning.

JOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Group Coaching and Sermon Reflection: Each participant presents two sermons for group reflection and thoughtful feedback, creating space to clarify voice, sharpen intention, and strengthen sermon development.

  • Individual Coaching Sessions: Two one-on-one coaching sessions offer personalized support alongside the communal learning experience.

  • Preaching Workbook: A curated workbook designed to support sermon preparation, reflection, and sustainable preaching practices throughout the cohort.

  • Mini-Lectures: Short teachings that support sermon development, preaching practice, and ongoing formation between sessions.

  • Online Preaching Lab Community: Access to the Preaching Lab online community for continued connection, shared learning, and growth beyond the cohort experience.
